Trusted Security Systems for K-12 and Higher Education

Education Security System

Single points of entry, visitor screening and after-hours lab access carry risks a standard office building doesn't, JMG SECURITY SYSTEMS builds access control, video and monitoring around how a campus actually runs.

School Security Answers To Parents Before It Answers To Alarms

WHERE CAMPUS SECURITY BREAKS DOWN

Four Situations Campuses Call Us About

Each one reflects what actually happens across a school or university, not a textbook scenario.

Propped Single-Entry Doors

01

Propped Single-Entry Doors

The front door is the only monitored entrance on paper. In practice, a side door gets propped for deliveries and stays that way past dismissal.

DOOR MONITORING

Unscreened Visitor Sign-Ins

02

Unscreened Visitor Sign-Ins

A guest signs a paper log at the front office. Nobody cross-checked the name against a watchlist before buzzing them through.

VISITOR SCREENING

Partial Lockdown Notification

03

Partial Lockdown Notification

An alert goes out campuswide, but the gym, the portables and the field house never got the page.

NOTIFICATION COVERAGE

Undocumented Lab Access After Hours

04

Undocumented Lab Access After Hours

A research lab stays unlocked past midnight for a late project. Who badged in and when isn't something anyone can pull up quickly.

AFTER-HOURS ACCESS

Three Systems, One Campus Standard

Campus security has three jobs: control who's on site, keep every entrance and hallway under watch, and get help to a classroom before an incident escalates.

Connect With A Security Advisor

01

Access & Visitor Control

Badge readers, video, and visitor check-in run as one system instead of a front-desk sign-in sheet and a separate door vendor. Exterior doors lock down to a single point of entry, visitors are screened and logged before reaching a classroom, and lockdown alarms reach staff and dispatch at once.

02

Video & Hallway Coverage

Cameras cover entrances, hallways, and common areas, with footage stored and searchable when an administrator needs to review an incident.

03

Fire & Life Safety

Detection and notification cover every classroom and wing, with inspection and drill records kept as documentation so a fire marshal review is a formality, not a scramble.

CASE STUDY · WESTBROOK UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Four Schools, Then Eleven, Under One District-Wide Plan.

The rollout from the first bell to the last: where the district started, what got installed, how staff adjusted, and where things stand this year.

SITUATION

The district signed on in 2012 with four elementary campuses, then added seven more schools through consolidation, each one showing up with a different door hardware and a different camera brand already in place.

APPROACH

District liaison Renee Castillo and installation lead Omar Farsi replaced each campus's mismatched hardware with the district's chosen access and video standard, working around the school calendar so classes were never interrupted.

OUTCOME

11

Campuses now share a single lockdown protocol and one central monitoring account, up from the four the district started with.

ONGOING

Superintendent Lauren Mbeki walks through what changed for front-office staff and how drills run differently now, in the client's video.

YOUR CAMPUS'S EXISTING SYSTEM

Preserving Working Infrastructure

Replacing every system is the easiest proposal to write, and rarely what a school district needs.

USUALLY STAYS

Retained System Components

01

Cabling and conduit that still meets code

02

Cameras and door readers within their service life

03

Panels a manufacturer still supports

04

Credentials your staff already carry

USUALLY REPLACED

Justified Equipment Replacement

01

Equipment a manufacturer has stopped supporting

02

Notification hardware that doesn't reach every building

03

Communication paths with no monitored backup

04

Doors that would fail a lockdown drill as they stand

Which list a given device lands on is decided by the walkthrough at your campus, not a catalogue. You receive the reasoning in writing before anything is ordered, and the assessment is free whether or not you go ahead.

WHAT CHANGED

What Changed, In Numbers

Every figure on this page is one the district signed off to share.

11

CAMPUSES ON ONE STANDARD

Westbrook Unified grew from four elementary campuses to eleven through consolidation, and every one of them now runs the same access and video platform instead of eleven separate contracts.

Nothing In The Server Closet To Patch

WHY JMG

Five Things A School Or University Can't Buy From A Manufacturer

What a district or campus gets from a security partner instead of a single vendor.

01

OUR OWN NETWORK

Private Alarm Network

A private, self-healing radio mesh, FCC and UL licensed to JMG. If a lockdown or entry alarm path drops, the event is raised — not missed during a passing period.

02

BY DESIGN

Vendor-Neutral Design

We do not manufacture anything. We design with 19+ manufacturers, so the recommendation fits your campus's compliance requirements, not a sales quota.

03

NOT SUBCONTRACTORS

In-House Field Teams

JMG technicians work out of every Southern California region. Same credentialed people, same standard, same paperwork — every time they're on-site at your campus.

04

ONE PLACE TO WORK FROM

Unified Security Platform

Doors, cameras, notification and alarms are reached from the same place with the same permissions — not five apps across five buildings.

05

HOWEVER MANY SITES

Standardized Multi-Site Security

A new campus is built to the standard your other sites already run on, so staff and safety teams don't relearn anything.
